BOMBING OUR ANDERSON SHELTERS

Last week we bombed the Anderson Shelters that we made. We made our bombs out of play dough (salt, flour, oil and blue food colouring).

We made three different sizes of bomb. There was an ‘extra little’ one, a medium sized little one and a large one that was bigger than our fists. We dropped the bombs on our shelters from high up above them. The extra little one bounced off on to the floor. The medium sized one went on the table, but the biggest bomb broke my shelter.

In the war if the siren sounded it meant the bombs were coming and there was an air raid. The families were scared and went to shelter in the Andersons. We hid under the table and shone our torches. When it was safe there was an ‘All clear’ alarm.

Mare and Foal Sanctuary

Mare and Foal Sanctuary
This year we have adopted two ponies at the Mare and Foal Sanctuary. Three of our students have weekly work experience placements at the Sanctuary where they are able to access a sensory programme and are encouraged with their communication skills.
